Finnish legendary Death Metal masters PURTENANCE, are back with a new release! It's a 4-song EP entitled "Paradox of Existence" and it's scheduled for its release next 12th of September through Xtreem Music!
After returning to a 5-piece band, PURTENANCE began to work on new tunes for which were recorded during the first half of 2017 and are now released as an EP that follows their trademarked heavy old school finnish Death Metal for what they're known since their inception in 1989. Cover artwork was once again made by Chris Moyen who's done once and every cover artwork since their debut album "Member of Immortal Damnation" in 1992.

One of the most legendary Death Metal bands from Finland, PURTENANCE, whose relationship with Xtreem Music label owner Dave Rotten began in 1991 with the release of their debut 7"EP and later their cult album "Member of Immortal Damnation", have inked a new deal with Xtreem Music for the release of their upcoming recordings.
PURTENANCE became a 5-piece band again in late 2015 and have been playing shows & writing new material for a new mini CD to be recorded in early 2017. The band will also see their 1992 debut album "Member of Immortal Damnation" re-issued con CD/ LP/ CASSETTE/ T-SHIRT to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this gem.
The band hasn't been very prolific playing outside of Finland; only one show in Madrid in October 2013 and next one will be at 2017's edition of the most respected and arguably the BEST extreme Metal & Grindcore festival in Europe which is OBSCENE EXTREME!!

Already here the 4th album out of the 5 finnish Death Metal releases planned by Xtreem Music during 2015!! One of Finland's most legendary Death Metal bands, of course we're talking about PURTENANCE, have their 3rd album ready to go!!
We all know their classic 1992 album "Member of Immortal Damnation" and since their reformation in 2012, they have released an EP "Sacrifice the King" in that same year, followed by the fucking heavy, dark and deep 2013's "Awaken From Slumber". Now 2015 sees the band returning to their most classic 90's sound, with a neat and powerful production and fucking memorable songs that will for sure please every PURTENANCE fan!!
"...to Spread the Flame of Ancients" will be released right before the band's appearance at the Finnish Death Metal Maniacs Festival where they'll do a special show not only presenting this new album, but also playing old classics featuring original vocalist Timo Häyrinen as guest. The long awaited 2nd album of finnish Death Metal legends PURTENANCE is finished and soon to be released through Xtreem Music!! After 2012's comeback EP "Sacrifice the King" which got mixed feelings amongst fans, the band not only continued working on new songs, but also added a second guitarist named Ville Nokelainen and entered studios in spring 2013 to record this new album entitled "Awaken From Slumber" at the same time they offered their first shows in 20 years.
For those who expect a "Member…II", they won't find it here. That album was done over 20 years ago with a different line up. "Awaken From Slumber" album shows the heaviest and darkest side of the band. This is how PURTENANCE sounds 2013!! A fucking crushing, heavy and gloomy Death Metal with inhuman brutal vocals. Those who weren't satisfied with their previous EP should give it a listen to this new album cos they'll be gladly surprised!!

Release date on CD format is scheduled for October 1st, being followed in November by a vinyl version. Just after the release of the album, PURTENANCE will play their very first show outside Finland at RITUAL ZOMBI FEST together with label mates AVULSED, DISSECT (hol), CHRIST DENIED & ONIROPHAGUS in October 12th to take place in Madrid (Spain).
After the highly acclaimed re-issue in 2011 through XTREEM MUSIC of the legendary debut album from 1992 "Member of Immortal Damnation", finnish Death Metal masters PURTENANCE decided to reform anf bring back to life the legend!! The band is more motivated than ever and have already inked a deal with XTREEM MUSIC for the release of a new mini CD as well as their upcoming albums, first of them expected for 2013.
The new mini CD is already recorded and entitled "Sacrifice the King", featuring 6 songs in the already traditional Finnish Death Metal for which PURTENANCE is well known for. The current line-up cosists of original members Juha Ranniko (guitars) and Harri Salo (drums) plus new member Ville (bass/vox). Cover artwork had been again done by cult artist Chris Moyen.
Release date for "Sacrifice the King" is expected during the month of Juna 2012 (vinyl version will come later) and the band is already working on 12 new songs for their sophomore album expected during the 1st half of 2013.
