1st full length album by this legendary spanish band formed back in 1990!! Pure old school Death Metal with great production, heavy sound and memorable songs for lovers of bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE, MASSACRE...

This is the début album of Spanish Death Metal band Aposento.

Take a look at the album art. If that doesn’t scream DEATH METAL at you at then I don’t know what does. Top work.

Aposento have been around for a very, very long time but this is the first album they’ve actually released. Kind of crossing the sound of bands like Avulsed and Deicide, Aposento offer us in-your-face Death Metal with an understanding of what makes a good song catchy and memorable while simultaneously piling on the brutality.

A strong, solid sound increases the impact the songs have with the riffs and pounding drums working in unison to plough down anything in front of it.

Vocally the singer is deep and follows the Avulsed school of guttural noises.

The songs take elements of Old-School Death Metal and merge them with a more timeless style of Death Metal akin to Cannibal Corpse’s USDM in the sense that it’s not ultra-modern but it’s not completely Old-School either; rather it contains elements of the timeless Classic style. Ultimately this is Death Metal, and no-one would have trouble recognising this for what it is.

Quality Death Metal played by lifers who know their business.

Aposento is a Spanish Death Metal band from the early ‘90s. Unfortunately the band couldn’t release any full length albums back in the day and broke up. Nonetheless, the band released a couple of demos, and upon reuniting, a couple of EPs as well but it’s only now that the band has released its debut full length under the banner of Xtreem Music. Personally, I’m almost tired of new bands attempting to play old school Death Metal – there’s nothing like the old guys understanding the essence of that style and playing it naturally than kids getting in the studio and contriving to sound somewhat like that. There’s a difference you see and in this case it’s quite apparent. Aposento has more substance than many of such aesthetic-driven bands put together. And it sounds as relevant as any Death Metal music out there.

This isn’t some slow, dragging music doled out under the pretext of washed out old school legends releasing an album. No sir, this is something that will kick the shit out of even the modern bands in terms of speed and drive. I daresay it will even give them a run for their money, especially the ones trying too hard. Aposento has roots in the primitive style of Death Metal comparable to the likes of early Massacre, Cannibal Corpse, Master, even Benediction – it’s that meat and potatoes kind of Death Metal. It’s got this Thrash vibe to it as well which renders the proceedings lively. There’s hardly any slow shit here. It’s just raging and blasting Death Metal music with the emphasis on delivering pure riffy Death Metal than anything else. Everything else takes a backseat.

This kind of riffy Death Metal has come from around the world. I could liken it to Monstrosity circa ‘In Dark Purity’ for its riff-oriented meatiness and equally, to the Brazilian legends Headhunter D.C. It’s the kind of Death Metal that will never lose its appeal. It’s the basis of this genre. There’s this inherent rabidity which is reminiscent of South American bands, mostly early Sepultura. Just combine all the cited bands and imagine a potent and highly competent band delivering Death Metal. It’s bound to please you, unless you’re a stickler for technicality or brutality or modern pit grooves. Or you could thrash like a maniac, throw your horns up frantically and just bang your head off in classic style.

Aposento has delivered an album late in its career but going by the quality, better late than never I’d say. It’s a reminder of how good Death Metal can sound with the heart being in the right place.

Aposento are a band from Spain that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their self titled 2014 album which was released by Xtreem Music.

A very heavy and skull crushing sound starts off the album along with some death metal growls a few seconds later and the band also uses some melody and early 90's style technical playing long before it was considered a genre which leads up to fast parts and blast beats becoming a part of the music.

All of the musical instruments have a very dominant sound in all of the tracks that are presented on the album and the lead guitars are very old school sounding death metal solos and on some of the later songs high pitched screams start mixing in with the deep growls along with a mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the band seems to be heavily influenced by the early Florida death metal bands with some of the tracks sounding like some of the more famous bands of that scene and era. and the blast beats they utilize have a very brutal sounding feeling to them at times.

Aposento go back to the early 90's Florida death metal sound with their music ignoring all modern trends and bringing in a more raw and simple approach to this genre, the production sounds very old school yet professional at the same time while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover darkness, gore, occult and ufo themes.

In my opinion Aposento are a very great sounding old school death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Aliens - Seres del Mas Alla" "La Valla" and "Alma Condenada".

Andere gehen in Rente, APOSENTO fangen erst so richtig an. Geiler, old school Death Metal amerikanischer Prägung! Yeah und aus!
