4º álbum de esta veterana banda húngara de Technical Brutal Death para amantes de bandas como ORIGIN, IMMOLATION, DEEDS OF FLESH, GORGASM, NILE, HATE ETERNAL...
Hoy encaro un trabajo que me ha sorprendido de forma muy positiva, ya que nunca habÃa seguido la pista a los brutales húngaros GUTTED. Pero tras escuchar y reescuchar su último disco, hay que calificarlo como demoledor y convincente, de principio a fin. No obstante, desde el anuncio del lanzamiento y tras catar las muestras de audio pertinentes, se auguraba que lo que venÃa era serio. Su producción ha corrido a cargo del guitarrista Gábor Drótos: un infierno sónico, palazo de lleno en toda la nuca.
Los adelantos “Cosmos of Humansâ€, “Deeper Than Hell†y “Fades Away†(este último con la colaboración guitarrÃstica de Attila Vörös, incluyendo unos fraseos bestiales, casi en plan BRAIN DRILL) son muy reveladores: aquà no hay trampa ni cartón, ni caramelo ni golosina, solo se nos entrega una brutalidad cruelmente concebida. Por otra parte, la vÃa de crÃtica social y de relacionados temas peliagudos elegida por GUTTED se hace evidente en sus videoclips, mostrando que tras esas implacables murallas de decibelios existe un mensaje crÃtico e inteligente, bien direccionado, apuntando a la verdadera incomodidad mediante situaciones reales y cotidianas, ocultas o visibles pero ante las que cualquiera puede sentirse identificado, algo mucho más impactante que todas las ficciones juntas. Si he de escoger un track del CD, sin duda es “Hell Dwells Insideâ€, simplemente por todo lo que encierra y expresa, y por cómo lo hace, enganchando. Como dato reseñable, el corte “Into Oblivion†incluye la participación vocal de Attila Csihar (MAYHEM), además de resultar otro misil de calibre superior, albergando ciertos detalles exquisitos.
Dave Rotten, der Chef von Xtreem Music hat ein extrem feines Näschen für herrlichen Krach. So auch bei den Ungarn von Gutted, deren neues (viertes!) Album er nun auf seinem Label veröffentlicht. Und da hat er echt einen Volltreffer gelandet, denn die Kollegen liefern eine durch und durch grandiose Scheibe ab! Extrem brutal, immer hart an der Grenze zum Grindcore, verzaubern uns die Musiker mit einem verdammt hohen technischen Niveau, dass dem Hörer echt die Spucke wegbleibt. Da soll noch mal einer sagen, dass extreme Musik nur hirnloses Gekloppe von Möchtegern-Musikern wäre! Die Verbindung von gnadenloser Brutalität mit einem derartigen Niveau ist definitiv etwas, das man nicht oft zu hören bekommt und mir gefällt das Teil ausserordentlich gut! Coole Riffs, atemberaubende Soli und andere Spielereien machen das Album zu einem Hörvergnügen allererster Kajüte. Anspruchsvoll, aber nie überfordernd! Und dazu gesellen sich herrliche Growls und das Ganze gerne in ordentlich flotter Geschwindigkeit, was will man denn noch mehr? "Martyr Creation" sollte man unbedingt nicht nur so nebenbei hören, oder nach einem Durchlauf wieder ins Regal stellen, denn dann verpasst man so einiges, was sich erst beim zweiten, oder dritten Hörvergnügen offenbart. Und seien wir ehrlich: Genau solche Alben sind doch oft die besten! Schönes Teil, das ich Euch nur wärmstens empfehlen kann, auch wenn die Spielzeit eigentlich viel zu kurz ist!
A band formed back in 1998, released its first demo on 2000 and in the year 2016 releasing its latest, 4th full length is definitely something you ought to check. Gutted are from Hungary (careful here not to confuse them with the Americans) and "Martyr Creation" is their new album succeeding, "Path Of A New Era", their EP of 2013. The album consists of a nice blend of brutal death metal with technicalities here and there. In the description they claim to have grindcore elements also but pardon me, I didn’t notice any. To my ears this new album from the Hungarians is the perfect blend for those who like their brutal shit, technical as well.
Short Sci-fi into and then 'Cosmos Of Humans' breaks in ravaging all in sight. Technical riffs, covering a wide range of styles in the genre, and a relentless drummer blasting almost from start to end with tremendous accuracy. Top Notch.
'False Happiness' is the one to bust your face in with its intro. Short drum bursts following the guitar chops and after the intro all hell breaks loose. A nice break in the middle of the song evens the scales a bit and kind of allows you to get your shit together but not for long. Ferocious ending and of to the next one.
The songs proceed in a tremendous pace and it is not that they are small in length. 3 minutes average length but they are constructed in such way that they don’t get tiresome. A swirl of technical-brutal riffing sucks you in it. The Hungarians are true players. Sweep picks, swirling riffs and many more technical terms are to be found in plenty in this fourth studio album of Gutted which in my humble opinion is their most balanced one. Brutality evens technicality here. One doesn’t drop its shadow to the other and of course one works in favor of the other. The production is exquisite. Ok maybe I would prefer it a bit more rough but fuck it. Can’t have everything as you want it right? Everything has its special place in the mix and again they all work cohesive and unique.
The perfect production I would say, to bring forth the technical character these Hungarian brutalers possess. Will bring in mind a lot of Necrophagist or in some points Deeds Of Flesh n stuff. 8 songs, an intro and an outro and after 30 minutes everything goes back from the start. An excellent fourth studio album from the Hungarians that prove that even after 16 years, they can still serve ferocious death metal to make your ears bleed. Job well done!
So monumental wie das Cover aussieht, so gibt sich auch das Intro „Chaos of the Beginning“, das auch locker zu „Game Of Thrones“ passen könnte, doch dann wüten die Ungarn wie die Berserker. „Cosmos of Humans“ tackert im Highspeed drauf los wie die Sau, der Bass wummert wie wahnsinnig und die Drums tackern so kernig trocken wie ich es mag. Die Vocals dazu sind tiefe Growls, die kraftvoll klingen und auch danach macht „False Happiness“ keine Gefangenen. Das ist technisch brutaler und rasender Death Metal, wie er im Buch steht und in Blast Manier wird „Consuming Life“ raus gedroschen. Knüppel Parts sind bei „Deeper than Hell“ nur ab und an eingestreut, hier ist der Speed im Up Tempo angesiedelt und der mystische Zwischenpart mit der Kinderstimme verbreitet eine unheilvolle Atmosphäre. Meine Fresse werden in „Fades Away“ die Saiten glühen gelassen, dazu tackert die Snare unaufhörlich brutal und auch bei „Kings of Emptiness“ wird man von dem Highspeed einfach nur weg geblasen. Aber, und das muss man den Ungarn zugute halten, die eingebauten Breaks und die Gitarren sind immer hochinteressant. So brutal die Drums auch agieren, die Klampfen haben teils was kraftvoll majestätisches an sich und weiter wummert der Bass bei den vertackten Parts mitten in der Magengegend. Ein kurzes Grollen leitet die Trümmer Orgie „Into Oblivion“ ein, die erneut wie ein Hurrikan wütet und danach kann sich mit dem Outro „Atrophied Existence“ genau so monumental der Staub wieder legen und man begreift erst danach, was einem da vor die Wand gepresst hat.
