If you do not know who is Dave Rotten, then please stop reading and go search inside of your soul why you are reading a Metal website... but if you do, you not only know that he's the gorgle-ist of the Death Metal band AVULSED, a very competent act if you like BOLT THROWER or DEMIGOD, but also a big supporter of the underground for a long time. Although Dave is a Death-head he is also a big old school Thrash fan and HOLYCIDE is the way he can get his passion for this music style. The band is not only performing live, but they already have a few recordings under their (bullet) belt. This, their debut album, is a fierce piece of Thrash in the vein of EXODUS, VIO-LENCE and mid-era KREATOR with touches of Cavalera-era “Arise†and a good touch of metallic Hardcore in the CRO-MAGS and early D.R.I. style. Dave vocals are obviously different from what he does in AVULSED, as he fits the screamy style needed for this type of music. The execution and recording is also very good as he has a band that consists of experienced members. The cover art has that Ed Repka influence, an artist quite popular among Thrash Metal bands in the late 80s. The lyrical approach is that of war, injustice and the Metal way of life. A band with a song named 'Motörhead' can not be wrong. If there is something I find, after listening to the album a few times, is that some songs have a similar overall vibe, maybe at times the vocals could get a bit variation here and there. Important to the band's sound is the bass, as it can be heard in (what for me is the best song) 'Bonebreaker'. They also do a very good cover of a song from DÉTENTE, taking it as theirs as the way a cover is supposed to be. I have seen a few videos of the band, and I can assure you they are killer live, so if you have a chance do not miss it. For fans of old school influenced Thrash Metal, you cannot go wrong with Dave's mark of quality in it. Thrash at 666 km/hr!
El proyecto thrasher de Dave Rotten (vocalista de Avulsed) está apostando muy fuerte dentro de nuestro panorama nacional. En este disco podemos encontrar 10 cortes al estilo Dark Angel o Demolition Hammer lleno de puro Thrash Metal.
Si nos adentramos con la portada, podemos observar que no le falta detalle alguno, pues un alma guerrera se apodera de la ciudad con dos pistolas dejando atrás lo que se interponga al camino, sobre todo en un mundo tan tóxico como el nuestro. Tiene mucha ilustración con colores muy vivos que hacen resaltar la figura principal, pero sin olvidarse de los personajes secundarios que van ligados a la religión, polÃtica, entre otros. Sinceramente, los primeros de muchas listas que pensamos en aniquilar, si ocurriese alguna catástrofe de guerra o nuclear.
La segunda canción da el nombre al disco, “Annihilate… Then Ask!†es un tema con mucha tonalidad de bajo . Al principio resalta mucho y seguidamente, vuelve otra vez la caña dando paso esta vez un redoble de tambores.
“Human´s Last Dawnâ€, es un corte que me llama mucho la atención por como empieza, es perfecto para headbanguear al máximo en sus conciertos. A lo largo de está canción se notará la incitación a los mosh, tiene un conjunto de coros muy apropiados con la voz principal.
“Eager to Take Control†es la cuarta canción, desde mi punto del oyente me recuerda un poco partes más tirando hacia el crossover, pero eso sà sin dejar de lado en su estilo principal, todo un tema super cañero que nos partirá los tÃmpanos.
Sin duda alguna, en este tema han querido homenajear a los mÃticos “Motörheadâ€, dándole el mismo nombre a la canción. Es una canción con mucha melodÃa, empieza con un doblete de guitarras bastantes agudas que más tarde pasará a la composición entera de la canción. Lo que me llama la atención de esta canción es el coro, cantan el nombre del grupo combinándolas con 4 canciones suyas que son Overkill, Ace of Spades, Orgasmatron y No remorse, la idea super original.

“Bonebraker†es la sexta canción, se podrÃa llegar a decir que es el tema por decirlo de alguna manera, “más tranquilito†El inicio me resulta más heavy pero a medida que va recurriendo el corte se acelera cada vez un poco más.
Los que conocemos a los thrashers californianos Detente, sabemos como va “Losersâ€. Holycide ha hecho una versión un poco más cañera, aunque puede que sea por el gran cambio de remasterización…
La novena canción se titula “Leather Spikes Chains y Blood“, este tema, el ritmo tiene algunas partes percutidas y otras más movidas. ¡Es una canción hecha exactamente para poguear!
Y para acabar con este maravilloso disco, “Back and Forth“, empieza con una metrallante descarga thrasher seguida de la lÃnea de un bajo. Los coros de esta canción me recuerdan ecos lejanos y muy atractivos. Cabe destacar que es la única que tiene alguna parte con voz gutual.
Es un disco de Thrash Metal tirando a la vieja escuela, para quien no reconozca a Holycide, se los recomiendo al 100%. Tiene todo lo que una banda asà ha de tener, rapidez, voz desgarradora, baterÃa sobresaliente…

Se inicia el asalto a nuestros oÃdos con la feroz “Afterworld Remnantsâ€, una embestida directa, rotunda, toda una declaración de intenciones y un aviso del estilo violento y acelerado que vamos a encontrar a lo largo de todo el álbum, riffs destructivos y una base rÃtmica aplastante.
Le sigue el tema que da tÃtulo al redondo y que ya lanzaron como adelanto del mismo, “Annihilate … Then Ask!â€, dinámico y arrollador, veloz, con un bajo muy presente, y un estribillo ciertamente adictivo.
Magnifica es la continuación con “Deseve to be Erasedâ€, otro tema de ritmo bestial, bajo y baterÃa se muestran intratables en su arremetida, los riffs de guitarra te golpean furiosos, la voz es cruda y agresiva y los cambios de ritmo son absolutamente bestiales.
Es el turno de “Leather Spikes Chains & Bloodâ€, una exaltación del metal, un himno thrasher con una velocidad diabólica, un estribillo facilón pero tremendamente pegadizo y eficaz y un soberbio cambio de ritmo antes del solo en el que meten detalles como voces profundas y guitarras sin distorsión que les han quedado sencillamente geniales.
Sobresaliente este “Annihilate … Then Ask!†de HOLYCIDE. Si lo que estás buscando es una delirante y furiosa acometida del Thrash más primigenio este es sin duda el disco que esperabas.
Holycide no ha inventado la rueda a estas alturas en este “ANNIHILATE …THEN ASK†y en este trabajo su sonido se puede asemejar en muchos momentos a sus grandes influencias, sin duda, pero vive Satán, saben muy bien lo que hacen y no se andan con hostias, aquà no hay prácticamente concesiones ni guiños, ni nada que no sea hacer un thrash abrasivo, violento y sin ningún sentimiento ni remordimiento de recoger en el campo de batalla a prisioneros, solo vienen a quemar el directo, la sala y a todo el que se ponga por delante.
Se nota, independientemente de que el grupo haya buscado ese genuino deje old school y no cortarse absolutamente nada con el salvajismo de los temas, un cuidado esmero en las composiciones de los temas, siempre pivotando en el buen trabajo que realiza Dave Rotten en las lÃricas un esmerado cuidado en el sonido y un no menos esmerado trabajo compositivo ejecutado con precisión, y es que el disco suena como un cañonazo sonico y a diferencia de unos decadentes Destruction que se repiten como el ajo, aquà hay ideas, hay lineas diferentes y diversión a raudales al hacer el molinete. Por cierto, chapó al trabajo en general del grupo, pero sobretodo al currazo de las rÃtmicas que firma Jorge Utrera. El único pero que le saco a este aspecto del sonido es que para mi gusto es demasiado limpio en la produccion, le falta ese deje sucio que tenÃan los grupos de entonces, entiendo que por la tecnologÃa de grabación, pero que no desluce el trabajo.

Spain has been bringing the noise for a few years now, with the likes of Exodia, Crisx, Soldier, and the more well known Angelus Apatrida, providing plenty of fresh frash-frills for fans worldwide. Now it’s Holycide’s turn to rip and tear their way through the masses and with a sound that’s both clean yet still gritty, this collection of searing riffs and heavily accented vocals hits with maximum force.
Like a Spanish version of cult Californian thrashers Evildead crossed with death metal’s earliest releases, Holycide’s Annihilate…Then Ask! reeks of late 80’s authenticity and the varied pace and gang-vocals of “Human’s Last Dawn†and Lemmy tribute “Motorhead†provide plenty of neck-snapping moments for thrash fiends.
Dave Rotten’s vocals (yep, him from Madrid death metal monsters Avulsed) are a gargled triumph, sounding more like dear ol’ Chuck Schuldiner than your typical thrash fare and drawing comparisons to the borderline death/thrash found on Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy than anything else. It works too as there’s nothing like a bit of nostalgia for the days of yore to get the blood pumping and the head-a-banging!
Este es el proyecto número 666 del vocalista DAVE ROTTEN.Todos los proyectos del mÃtico vocalista son buenÃsimos: AVULSED, HOLYCIDE, FAMISHGOD (del que más adelante comentaremos su nuevo trabajo), YSKELGROTH, ROTTEN, CHRIST DENIED, PUTREVORE…….y hasta grabo un trabajo con los mÃticos GOLGOTHA. ROTTEN es un tÃo que mueve mucho el metal extremo (es de agradecer) en este paÃs y con XTREEM MUSIC está haciendo un trabajo increible.

Holycide are a thrash metal quintet out of Madrid. They have a demo and an EP to their name but Annihilate… Then Ask! is their debut full-length. Spain is not particularly known for making great thrash metal but Holycide are aiming to change that along with bands like Angelus Apatrida, Crisx, and Soldier. Holycide’s brand of thrash metal is fast and furious at its core with blistering riffs, propeller-like drumming, and ripping vocals that resemble a slightly cleaner version of Evil Chuck’s on the first two Death albums.
The riffs on this album are pretty awesome but considering they have two guitarists, the guitar tone seems a bit thin and the riffs are a bit lacking in heaviness. Still, these guys can thrash with the best of them as evidenced by a song like “Eager to Take Control†which is nonstop riffs, constantly bouncing between being a speed demon and wanting to maintain a shred of heaviness. This is a style employed by many bands in the genre and is very successful because it never stops or slows down even for a second, keeping the listener on the edge of their proverbial seat. The leads and solos on here are great when they appear but they are used a bit too sparingly. All told though, the guitar work here is all killer, riffs and solos alike.
Dani Fernandez’s bass lines are a big standout on this album. They could be a touch higher in the mix but with attentive listening, you can definitely hear all the cool lines he is playing throughout the album. Interestingly enough, Dani is also the current bassist for the legendary Spanish power metal band Dark Moor and his bass lines are rarely audible on their albums, which is unfortunate. Different genres call for different mixes though and Dani definitely shows his chops in Holycide. You can hear it right from the get go with the album’s blistering opener “Afterworld Remnants†and the killer bass lines just keep coming as the album progresses with funky grooves like the opening of “Human’s Last Dawn†and the album’s epic closer “Back and Forth.†It is wonderful to hear more thrash bands giving bassists their due justice. It really is about damn time.
The drum work on Annihilate… Then Ask! is very solid and occasionally stands out as extraordinary like the driving rhythms and cool cymbal work on “Human’s Last Dawn.†This is nicely contrasted by the fast and furious kick drum laden approach to the faster tunes on this album such as “Motorhead,†which also features the best guitar solos on the album and is probably a tribute of some sort to the legends. The opening drum lines of “Bonebreaker†are of interest too as they sound like a cross between a jackhammer and war drums done on a drum kit.
Dave Rotten’s vocals are the only real point of contention on this album. They are not bad by any stretch of the imagination. On the contrary, they are fantastic. The trouble is that with his accent and gruff early Death inspired voice, it can be a bit difficult to decipher the lyrics. Lyrics are not a huge thing in thrash and with careful listening, Dave’s lyrics can be deciphered but sometimes it sounds like he is just growling random words. Still, they work rather well for Holycide’s high energy brand of thrash and they do stand out as original.
Holycide are another great metal band from Spain. These guys pound out mosh pit inducing thrash that will leave you beat down, bloodied and drained and of course wanting more. Just pure brutal thrash like it was meant to be played. They have a more hardcore and punk infused thrash style like that of Suicidal Tendencies, Hirax, and Exodus. It’s hard, fast, angry and downright brutal. Fast and heavy guitar riffs with a great thick wall of sound. The bass and drums leave your head pounding for days on end. The vocals are nasty mean and in your face. Great thrash should be angry and get you pissed off. These guys have some great classic metal guitar leads as well. “After World Remnantsâ€, “Human’s last Dawnâ€, and “Deserve to be Erased†make for the perfect sound track for the apocalypse. Just killer thrash metal from start to finish. No let downs no slow spots, just push play and bang your fucking head! You need this album! Now go fucking get it!
Previamente ya habÃamos descubierto a HOLYCIDE con su EP “Toxic Mutationâ€. Este trabajo mostraba a una banda que bebÃa de clásicos no tan tÃpicos del Thrash como DARK ANGEL, CORONER, DETENTE, ATROPHY o NUCLEAR ASSAULT. Es decir, habÃa toques Crossover, toques Speed. Sólo le faltaba tener un halo de oscuridad y tecnicismo a lo INFERNÄL MÄJESTY para redondear el asunto. Con este primer trabajo en largo HOLYCIDE no hace más que confirmar todas estas referencias. Además, mejora exponencialmente en tema de sonido, versatilidad, composición y diseño. Dicho sea de paso, y aunque sea obra de un habitual en el mundo de las portadas como es Andrei Bouzikov (MUNICIPAL WASTE, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, SKELETONWITCH…), le ha quedado de miedo.
Nada más empezar suenan dos trallazos como “Afterworld Remnants†y la propia “Annihilate… Then Ask!â€, esta última con carga social en la letra. Y ya en ambos vemos todos los pasos adelante que ha dado la banda. La producción está a medio camino entre el sonido afilado del pasado y la profundidad del presente, siendo la baterÃa lo menos ochentero del conjunto, pero bien grabada. Lo que más me ha gustado es el brutal sonido del bajo de Dani Fernández. Además, ofrece lÃneas muy interesantes (en medios tiempos como “Human’s Last Dawn†ya termina de brillar), pero la pareja de guitarristas no se queda atrás. Tanto Miguel Bárez, que ya conoce a Rotten de lejos pues ha sido parte del banquillo de AVULSED en los conciertos, como Salva Esteban.
HOLYCIDE is the band which you can see in two possible ways. First, you judge them as a copy of old and classic trash metal records. Or second, you accept their game. As a person who likes old school trash metal league I like this new album "Annihilate... Then Ask!". I appreciate the appointment and all of the dirty ideas. This is the underground which I like. Put on your denim jackets, remember the old good times and turn up the volume on your music players. If you yet stay still, something is wrong. You have to be wild while listening to this music, flip your head and jump in mosh-pit. Let me introduce you a dirty underground club which is full of people and there is HOLYCIDE on the stage. This music belongs in here and it feels right. Old school thrash metal which will kicks your asses.
Thrash metal is considered by many to be a one trick pony – it’s fast, aggressive, and socially relevant, but suffers from a lack of variety. Thrash fell from it’s place as the most popular subgenre and eventually gave way to the cultures of death metal and black metal after the masses got tired of it. But that’s where acts like Holycide come in – thrash may not be the king of the subgenres anymore, but it hasn’t been done to death. Even a small bit of deviation from the generic sound can be enough to make a thrash release sound fresh, and Annihilate… Then Ask! is filled with just enough flavor to separate itself from the sea of uninspired modern thrash.
The album kicks off immediately with strikingly clean production that features the classic thrash guitar tone, albeit tuned a tad bit lower than usual. The vocals are also a bit dirtier and deathier than average; I would describe them as rough and primitive instead of the traditional shouting. This, while creating a more distinct sound, comes less range and vocal variety.The clean production leaves the band vulnerable and with nothing to hide behind – if they sucked, there would be nothing to hide behind. Fortunately, Holycide doesn’t suck, and the clean production instead showcases their technical skill in all it’s glory with the lightning fast complexity of these songs. Complexity, however, is something that I’ve become skeptical of in thrash. Some bands like to take simple riffs and then play them quickly enough to give the illusion of a technical riff. Fortunately once again, this is not the case either. Annihilate… Then Ask! is littered with plenty of simpler riffs (such as on the title track, or during the verses of most tracks), but this variety helps the sound rather than hurting it. Regardless, if you’re looking for skill, there are more than enough complicated riffs to compensate for the abundance of tamer ones.
Numerous influences are drawn from all different directions and strung together by Holycide; the most interesting of these being the hints of death metal scattered across songs. Towards the beginning especially, some songs feature brief riffing played considerably higher than everything else, in the vein of some old school Cannibal Corpse songs. It sounds really cool when contrasted with the thrashy and straightforward style of everything else. In addition to death elements, the punk elements on the release are undeniable, if the socially/politically charged cover art didn’t make it obvious enough to begin with. The thrash and borderline death metal riffs that open the album start to bend as the record progresses, and by the middle it’s a full blown crossover thrash record. This “crossover†is highlighted by the marriage of the previously mentioned technical riffs and simple riffs: the former represent thrash, the latter sound more like punk riffs. Funny enough, the track with the most punk-sounding title, “Leather Spikes Chains & Blood,†ended up being one of if not the most metal-leaning song, as far as influences go.
Annihilate… Then Ask! is a great thrash album at heart, but it suffers from the issue that dethroned thrash in the mid to late eighties in the first place. Simply put, it gets repetitive. There’s not a lot that can be done to remedy an issue like this, as anything with a consistently fast tempo will get tiresome quickly, and it’ll usually happen before the record ends. In this case, it happened by “Bonebreaker,†only halfway through the album. The song structures are especially simple and straightforward at this point, contributing nothing significant or lasting to the album as a whole. However, the final two tracks make a fully successful and quite frankly, impressive turnaround and give the album a spectacular and interesting ending. The weakness of the album lies in the middle tracks, but Holycide is able to redeem the album before it’s too late.
Holycide makes for a solid representation of the evolution of thrash – the defining characteristics of the subgenre are omnipresent, but it’s clear that these Spaniards aren’t afraid of experimentation. Annihilate… Then Ask! manages to sound classic and fresh at the same time and, despite some expected imperfections, makes for a worthwhile modern thrash release.
Desde la inicial “Afterworld Remnantsâ€, pasando por “Human’s Last Dawnâ€, “Motorheadâ€, “Bonebreaker†o el propio tema tÃtulo, hasta llegar al final con “Leather Spikes Chains & Blood†y “Back And Forthâ€, nos topamos con canciones de ritmos acelerados, baterÃas desestabilizadoras, solos hirientes con su punto de vistosidad, voces desgarradas y, hasta la notoriedad del bajo en momentos puntuales. Todo ello bajo un sonido altamente corrosivo donde los graves dominan el entorno dinámico para dejar que los agudos surjan protagonistas cuando las guitarras ejecutan los ejercicios solistas.
Con la premisas reseñadas Holycide consiguen entretener, además de convencer, aportando los parámetros precisos, sin abusar de arquitecturas demasiado complejas ni tampoco recurrentes.
Punky, low-fat and sharp, “Annihilate… Then Ask!†Is a retro crossover thrash album taking hints of pre-death metal moments as it goes from gallops, punk chord running and chunky riffs to speedily picked riffs and blast beats, all as a barely sung grainy yelp barks across. It’s still firmly entrenched crossover thrash, obsessed mostly with violence and battle, but the early Sepultura influence creates the feeling that this could lead up to full on death metal later.
There’s elements that prevent the album from fully becoming retro, particularly the high recording quality. Guitar tones are as sharp as machetes, drums pound and pop, vocals are on the verge of full white noise harshness and all the songs operating at speeds beyond that thrash bands of the 80’s. I’m sure many fans would appreciate the modern power to get that extra kick to the head.
“Annihilate… Then Ask!†certainly achieves the bands vision of retro crossover thrash as a precursor to death metal, ensconced in violence.
Nos encontramos asà con nueve canciones propias y una versión de los norteamericanos DÉTENTE, en las que notamos una influencia muy grande de grupos como SLAYER, y que rebosan rabia por los cuatro costados. Riffs muy directos, ritmos de muchÃsima potencia y unas voces que, en ocasiones, parecen totalmente desquiciadas sirven para crear una música muy conseguida y directa.
Un punteo muy logrado y muy reconocible sirve como arranque a “Motörheadâ€, una canción muy potente y con un gran trabajo en las guitarras. La canción es verdaderamente furiosa y en los conciertos será una verdadera bomba.
A good beginning, is half the work, is not really applicable to this Spanish band. With involvement in bands like Dark Moor, Avulsed and a host of others, there was already a lot of experience. Already in 2004, vocalist Dave Rotten took the initiative to establish Holycide. He wanted a band that did absolutely nothing of concessions to commercialism and where aggression was paramount. They wanted to go back to the essence of thrash metal. The agony to form a solid band started and it took until 2014 when there was a full complement of five. A little later the EP Toxic Mutation was released.
After a crowd funding campaign to find the necessary euro’s for the recording and other costs, there is now finally their first album. There was even money to hire Andrei Bouzikov (see also Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and Skeletonwitch). His artwork with an apocalyptic battlefield where on the foreground a mutilated terminator thoroughly fires in the destruction, let no doubt rise. This is a full-blooded thrash album. There is played fast and aggressive. Dave Rotten spits and growls his lyrics but does so with clean vocals. Only in the furious closing track 'Back And Forth’ you can hear some grunting between the clean singing lines. He is assisted by hard polyphonic chorus vocals on most songs. So this feels really good. It even gets a punk attitude. ‘Annihilate ... Then Ask! ' and 'Human's Last Dawn’ sound very fanatical. In ‘Leather Spikes & Chains Blood’ there is played slightly slower. The music gets a somewhat soggy rhythm which reminds me a bit at Obituary. It isn’t all that special, but the thrash fans will surely dig it.
A introdução cadenciada de “Afterworld Remnants†chega a enganar o ouvinte, tamanha pancadaria iniciada por volta do primeiro minuto. Toda a energia tradicional do estilo está presente do inÃcio ao fim do álbum e logo na segunda faixa, o tema-tÃtulo, vemos que os Holycide beberam da fonte mais tradicional e conseguiram imprimir certa personalidade à s principais caracterÃsticas que definem essa onda sonora. Desde a capa num desenho estilo HQ feita pelo artista Andrei Busicov (Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Skeletonwitch) aos vocais rasgados, guitarras cortantes e coros nos refrões, está tudo lá para deleite dos thrashers aficionados. Destaque para a faixa “Deserve to be Erasedâ€, na minha opinião a melhor do disco.
A Holycide ya los conocÃamos del EP 'Toxic Mutation', asà que en cuanto vimos su primer disco, 'Annihilate Then Ask', nos decidimos a escucharlo. Como mismo hicieron en el EP, donde grabaron un cover de Dark Angel, aquà agregan un cover de Detente. Un homenaje a los clásicos menos conocidos.
La música es puro thrash del menos comercial. Sin concesiones la banda ataca durÃsimo, y los fans de grupos como los propios Dark Angel, Coroner y los Sepultura más crueles estarán de plácemes con este CD. Resulta muy agradable que no hayan decidido incluir ninguna de las canciones de su EP aquÃ, nada de relleno, todo es material nuevo y fresco.
Todas las canciones están muy bien, si hay alguna que destacar serÃa “Motorheadâ€, que obviamente está inspirada en quien tú sabes. Una composición rotunda y efectiva que hará las delicias incluso e los que no sean muy seguidores del thrash metal. En otras composiciones suenan mucho más crudos, como es el caso de “Bone breaker†o "Leather Spikes, Chains and Blood", tÃtulos por lo demás muy thrashero.
Aquà tenemos por fin el esperado primer álbum de Holycide, que para los que no los conozcan diremos que son el proyecto thrasher del incombustible Dave Rotten (Avulsed, Famishgod, etc). Hace apenas un año ya nos sorprendieron gratamente con su EP debut “Toxic Mutation†y las buenas sensaciones que nos dejaron no han hecho más que confirmarse con este “Annihilate…Then Ask!â€.
En definitiva, Holycide han sacado un sólido trabajo de thrash metal agresivo y cabrón, que les sitúa en la vanguardia de la excelente escena thrash nacional. A los ya consagrados Angelus Apatrida o Crisix hay que sumarles nuevos nombres como Trallery, Reaktion y sin duda alguna Holycide.
Este trabajo que consta de diez cortes repartidos en algo más de cuarenta y dos minutos de duración en la que va incluida una versión de los mÃticos DÉTENTE, en el que la banda sigue con su apuesta de un Thrash puro y agresivo, sin aditivos, más orientado a la vieja escuela de los ochenta de ese estilo más agresivo, muy en la onda de bandas como DARK ANGEL, CORONER o los primeros SEPULTURA, pero con su propio estilo, consiguiendo no ser una banda más de Thrash Metal, algo bastante difÃcil de lograr últimamente.
Continuamos con “Human´s Last Dawn†y la banda sigue sin darnos tregua, otro tema criminal con una pista de baterÃa grabada por Jorge Utrera de muchÃsimos quilates, la mezcla de los dobles bombo veloces con los riffs de guitarra abiertos es sin duda lo que más me llama la atención de esta canción.
En “Deserve to be Erased†encontramos un tema simplemente brutal, una colección de excelentes riffs, ritmos rebana cabezas, para mi otro de los más destacables del disco, Esta canción en directo tienen que ser para acabar con esguince cervical. “Losers†es la que sigue, un cover de los americanos DÉTENTE en la que si bien es cierto que tiene el toque personal de la banda, han mantenido perfectamente la esencia de la original, obteniendo un gran resultado.
Holycide wurden bereits 2004 von Dave Rotten (Avulsed) gegründet, der mit Vincente Paya (Golgotha) an der Gitarre eine neue, aggressivere Art von Thrash Metal erfinden wollte – da dieser jedoch keine wirklichen Ambitionen zeigte ist die Band nun erst seit 2014 wieder aktiv.
In diesen 10 Jahren wurden viele Bandmitglieder hin und her getauscht doch nun scheint eine dauerhafte Besetzung gefunden zu sein.
2015 erschien bereits die erste EP „Toxic Mutation“ als Kassette und Mini CD.
Meiner Meinung nach hat sich das Warten gelohnt, verdammt guter Thrash Metal, der sofort ins Ohr geht, ich fühlte mich genötigt dieses Album wieder und wieder anzuhören.
Schon der erste Song „Afterworld Remnants“ beginnt mit hoher Geschwindigkeit und vermutlich der Message „Scheiß auf Intros“.
