The
mythical Death Metal band from New York SORROW,
has just signed a contract with Xtreem Music
for the release of their long-awaited 2nd album
for summer 2023, which will be entitled: "Death
of Sorrow".
SORROW is
a legendary Death Metal band formed in 1988 under
the name APPARITION, under whose monicker they
recorded two demos and a 7"EP (on Relapse
Rec.), after which they changed their name to
SORROW in 1991, signing with Roadrunner
which released their EP "Forgotten Sunrise"
that same year, and their 1st album "Hatred
and Disgust" in 1992, after which the
band kept writing new stuff, but for personal
reasons the band had to break up.
In 2022, SORROW
decided to reunite with the same lineup of "Hatred
and Disgust" and record the 6 songs that
they wrote back in the day for their 2nd album
and that were never registered. In addition to
those 6 songs, the band has re-recorded the song
"Hidden Fear'" from their demo
"Human Fear" ('89). The 8 songs
(50 min.) of "Death of Sorrow",
having been written 30 years ago, keep the essence
of that time intact, sounding as heavy, doom and
soul crushing as they were 30 years ago.
SORROW is
finishing the recording of the album while the
cover art is being done by Ukrainian artist Daemorph
Art, so we can expect another masterpiece
whose release is scheduled for August 2023 in
CD, 12"LP, Cassette and Digital formats.

La
mítica banda de Death Metal de New York
SORROW, acaba de firmar un contrato con
Xtreem Music para la edición
de su lárgamente esperado 2º álbum
para verano de 2023, que llevará por título:
"Death of Sorrow".
SORROW es
una legendaria banda Death Metal formados en 1988
bajo el nombre de APPARITION, bajo cuyo nombre
grabaron dos demos y un 7"EP (en Relapse
Rec.), tras lo cual cambiaron de nombre a SORROW
en 1991, fichando con Roadrunner que les editó
su EP "Forgotten Sunrise" ese
mismo año, y su 1er álbum "Hatred
and Disgust" en 1992, tras lo cual la
banda siguió componiendo nuevo material,
pero por motivos personales la banda tuvo que
disolverse.
En 2022,
SORROW decidió reunirse con la misma
formación de "Hatred and Disgust"
y grabar los 6 temas que en su dís compusieron
para su 2º álbum y que nunca se llevaron
a cabo. Además de esos 6 temas, la banda
a re-grabado el tema "Hidden Fear"
de su demo "Human Fear" ('89).
Los 8 temas (50 min.) de "Death of
Sorrow", al haber sido compuestos
hace 30 años, conservan intacta la esencia
de entonces, sonando tan pesados, doom y desgarradores
como lo eran hace 30 años.
SORROW se
encuentra finalizando la grabación del
álbum mientras que el arte de la portada
está corriendo a cargo del artista ucraniano
Daemorph Art, con lo que podemos esperar
otra obra maestra cuya salida se espera para Agosto
de 2023 en formatos CD, 12"LP, Cassette y
Digital.
