2nd album from 1993 by this Massachusetts-based American band, although technically the debut released under the name BANISHED. After issuing the classic "The Dead Shall Inherit" (1992) as BAPHOMET, the group was forced to change its name due to legal issues while retaining the same lineup, musical style and artistic direction. This reissue also includes 3 bonus tracks, making it the most complete version of this cult American Death Metal release.
"Deliver Me Unto Pain" delivers a dark and aggressive form of Death Metal built around complex riffing, frequent tempo changes and outstanding musicianship. While incorporating technical elements, the album remains deeply rooted in the heavy and sinister New York Death Metal tradition, effectively serving as a natural continuation of the path originally established under the BAPHOMET name.
