Cassette version, limited to 50 copies, only available on the Xtreem Music mailorder, of the 3rd album from 2003 by Madrid's AVULSED, one of the longest-running and most representative bands in Spanish Death Metal. “Yearning for the Grotesque” marked a natural evolution in the band's sound, further strengthening their identity within Old School Death Metal through a more solid production, more elaborate songwriting and greater variety without sacrificing any of their trademark brutality.
The album combines heavy and memorable riffs, constant tempo changes, macabre atmospheres and a strong sense of groove, supported by the unmistakable ultra-guttural vocals of Dave Rotten. Recorded at Germany’s Spacelab Studios and produced by Oliver Philipps alongside Christian “Moschus” Moos, the album finds the band at a peak of creative maturity, balancing aggression, darkness and melody with an increasingly distinctive personality.
