Its sound combines ferocity, speed and raw aggression through savage riffing, frantic rhythms and Chris Barnes' distinctive vocals. More primitive and direct than the albums that followed, it captures a hungry young band in full creative development, delivering a collection of songs that would later become essential Death Metal classics.
