2nd album from 2012 by the Swedish ZOMBIFIED, a rotten and crushing blast of Old School Death Metal deeply rooted in the classic early 90s Scandinavian sound. “Carnage Slaughter And Death” overflows with cavernous riffs, crushing grooves and a putrid, violent atmosphere that pays absolute tribute to the filthiest and most murderous side of the Swedish old school. A direct, raw and devastating release that captures with total authenticity the spirit of the most primitive and sepulchral Swedish Death Metal. Recommended for fans of ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, GRAVE and CARNAGE.
9th album from 2026 by the Finnish DESECRESY, a band dedicated to heavy, dense and crushing Death Metal with strong Doom influences, wrapped in a dark, cryptic and deeply oppressive atmosphere. “The Secret of Death” develops the band’s characteristic monolithic sound, built on dragging riffs, hypnotic structures and a cavernous production that reinforces its funerary identity.
The album maintains the band’s usual approach, focused on extreme heaviness and the creation of dense, ritualistic soundscapes within the most bleak and absorbing Death Metal.
Recommended for fans of BOLT THROWER, INCANTATION, ROTTREVORE, MYTHIC, RIPPIKOULU and ABHORRENCE (fin).

7th album from 1976 by the British BLACK SABBATH, a daring and experimental work of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock where the band began incorporating more melodic, progressive and sophisticated influences into their trademark dark sound. “Technical Ecstasy” showcases BLACK SABBATH exploring new musical territory through keyboards, more elaborate arrangements and a cleaner production, while still retaining Tony Iommi’s heavy riffs and the band’s unmistakable gloomy atmosphere. A controversial yet highly interesting record that reflects a band striving to evolve and expand its creative boundaries during the 70s. Only album from 1989 by Swiss outfit CALHOUN CONQUER, one of the strangest, most original and difficult-to-classify bands to emerge from the late-1980s European underground. “Lost in Oneself” takes Technical and Progressive Thrash Metal as its foundation but expands it into experimental, psychedelic and avant-garde territory, resulting in a release that was clearly ahead of its time.
Far removed from the usual Thrash Metal formulas of the era, the album combines angular riffs, unconventional song structures, unsettling atmospheres and a strong experimental spirit. Its innovative character has often been compared to the visionary approach of VOIVOD, while some of its compositional ideas seem to anticipate paths later explored by bands such as CORONER, ATHEIST and CYNIC. At the same time, its determination to break stylistic boundaries within extreme Metal echoes the artistic philosophy of CELTIC FROST. A true hidden gem of Progressive Thrash Metal that remains remarkably fresh and unique decades after its release. Interestingly, Spanish band ABSORBED later paid tribute to CALHOUN CONQUER by recording a cover version of one of its songs on the album “Reverie”.
Recommended for fans of CORONER, VOIVOD, JESTER BEAST and CELTIC FROST.
7th album from 1999 by the American CANNIBAL CORPSE, one of the most influential and long-running bands in the history of Death Metal. “Bloodthirst” finds the band at the height of its creative maturity, fully consolidating the George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher era and taking its trademark blend of brutality, speed and precision to one of its highest peaks.
With a powerful production and flawless execution, the album delivers a devastating combination of crushing riffs, relentless rhythms and constant aggression that helped establish CANNIBAL CORPSE as an absolute benchmark of Death Metal worldwide. Regarded by many fans as one of the strongest and most representative releases in the band's extensive discography.
Recommended for fans of MALEVOLENT CREATION, MONSTROSITY, DEICIDE and SUFFOCATION.
